How To Get Here

By Air:

While feeling remote and secluded, it is just a short one hour plane ride on Pacific Coastal Airlines to Vancouver and Whistler – home to the 2010 Olympics. A well established airport with paved airstrip offers convenient commuting.

Plan on attending the 2010 Olympics, then jump aboard your private plane for a spectacular flight to your own remote estate at the end of the day. You’ll be settled in front of the fire with your friends before most others will have driven the Sea to Sky highway to a tiny hotel room in Vancouver.

By Sea:

The Burke Channel into the Bella Coola valley is one of only three deep sea ports off the west coast of British Columbia. The Bella Coola government wharf offers generous moorage for luxury vessels as well as fishing vessels. BC Ferries Queen of Chilliwack operates the Discovery Coast Passage from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island to the port in Bella Coola from June to September. From October to April, the MV Nimpkish serves a hub and spoke service from the community to the outer islands, connecting with the new MV Northern Adventure operating between Port Hardy & Prince Rupert.

By Land:

Highway 20 begins at the wharf in Bella Coola, ending in Williams Lake at Highway 97. The highway is paved except for 60 kilometers (37 miles). There is an interesting section within the park boundary called Heckman Pass, known locally as “The Hill” or “The Freedom Road”. Local historian Cliff Kopas writes about the construction of The Hill in his book Bella Coola.
